Loan Option For Tenants And Homeowners As Well

By Erika Anaya

There was a time when getting credit support without having anything substantial to pledge was virtually impossible. Back then lending was not a competitive business. And, when one had to enter the loan market, the first thing that used to bother him was the security factor. Basically, property ownership was all that mattered.
But, the realisation of the fact that pledging collateral is neither possible for all (tenants, students and people living with their parents) nor it is always feasible for those who can (homeowners and property owners) – lead to the introduction of a loan alternative that does not involve collateral –unsecured loans – a sub-type of personal loans.
In nutshell, the unique 'no collateral' feature of unsecured loans makes it suitable for all UK residents who are over 18 years of age and are incapable or unwilling to pledge collateral. However, the approval of the loan application is subject to the lender’s credit policy and the loan seeker's past and current credit standing as good or average or bad, and future payback capacity. Other advantages of availing unsecured loans are no time-consuming property evaluation procedure, less paperwork, quick loan approval and no repossession threat (in case the borrower fails to payback). As they are not the safest deals for the creditors, cons are bound to be there – limited credit range (typically between £500 and 25,000), high interest rates (typically between 7.9% and 41%), fixed rate plan and payback option, and pre-set loan terms and conditions. The importance of collateral is still unbeatable in the loan bazaar. But, creditors are making equal effort to target non-property owners. Market report shows that the demand for unsecured loans has increased in the last couple of years, which can be attributed to:
The growing realisation that they are much cheaper than other credit alternatives like payment cards and overdrafts
The fact that its 'no collateral' feature reduces the overall official procedures and the loan approval time Because of the growing demand and competition, many creditors are even offering cheap unsecured loans. However, to get cheap unsecured loans, the borrower needs to have a good credit history (past two years) and sound payback ability.

The Aleph
The first of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet, Aleph, is designated with the distinction of being number one; the configuration of the Aleph is of particular interest—two dots divided by a diagonal line moving from the upper left to the lower right. These three components, two dots and a line, are themselves letters; the Aleph is composed of two Yuds and a Vav (Yud/10, Vav/6, Yud/10 =26) producing a number equivalent to the YHVH—God’s Name. The word Aleph has two meanings: 1) thousand; 2) titular head or general.
Creation of human life on planet earth was divided into six 1000 year segments to culminate, like the six days of the week, with a thousand years of rest-the seventh thousandth year. Each thousand year period has a distinct nature corresponding to one of the seven outer planets whose own nature is determined by the particular Sefira (the lower seven of the Ten Sefirot—the cabalistic building block of creation—are called Zera Anpin/Small Faces the seventh sefira Malchut/Royalty) with whom the six meld is woman.
Five hundred years ago the cabalists pried opened the Zohar-Book of Secret 1500 years after its composition eliciting the knowledge of creation; they explained how the world of Tohu/Dots, whose physical representation is the planet Mars, broke; the resultant sparks from the breaking fell into the world of Tikun/Fixing—the physical manifestation of the world of Tikun is the earth. Though the sparks fell down, the light of Tohu/Dots retracted back into the world of Akudim/Lines. When, through our efforts we repair the previous world of Tohu, then the light from the world of Akudim can enter into our world and there will be illumination—the line and the dots of a broken spark are represented by the form of the Aleph.
The world of Akudim came about from the mouth of Adom Kadmin/Primordial Man—the first revelation of the Ten Seferot. The beginning of Akudim/Lines is the light that comes from the mouth of Adom Kadmin and it is in them that the illuminated vessels are first formed. The illumination of the inner lights that fill combined with the outer lights that surround became unified in the mouth of Adom Kadmin. These four levels are revealed as four Alephim. The four ones are an indication that the world of Tohu has been completely fixed and the light from the world of Akudim is beginning enter into our world.
This revelation coincides with the closest approach from Mars in the last day of the month of the Lion, Av, in the year 5763/August 27, 2003; this event had been forewarned by the explosion of a neutron star that bombarded the earth on precisely that day five years earlier for five minutes knocking out satellites and other delicate instruments on the earth. The month of Av is known for its severity because both Temples in Jerusalem were sacked and burnt to the ground on precisely the same day, the Ninth of Av, five hundred years apart.
Immediately after Mar’s closest approach ever to the earth, the world went into the month of B’tula/Virgin to begin the transition from six thousand years of man into the concluding thousand years of woman known as the Thousand Years of Peace. The recent phenomenon of 1111 sightings is closely related to this new light.

The Taurus Character - The Second Sign of the Zodiac

By Rebecca Brents
Want some words to describe Taurus? How about "laid back" and "easy going?" Taurus likes to mellow out, take life at a measured stride and on its own time schedule. What can I say? Taurus believes in conserving physical resources ... and "conserving" its own energy is first on the list. You just can't push these folks any faster than they have a mind to go. Either get used to it ... or decide to make antacids part of your daily life.
The image of the strong silent type -- especially the movie hero in old time westerns -- who simply could not be pushed off center, not in his personal habits nor in his stand on principle, was quintessentially a Taurus. These folks can take a lot of aggravation, guff, and problems, and handle challenges with patient fortitude, until something becomes the last straw ... and then the resulting tantrum leaves devastation as if a tornado cut a swath across the land.
When Taurus folks get mad, the show is spectacular. It's wise to take cover until the coast is really, really clear. Fortunately, with Taurus, such moments are rare. This sign sincerely wants life to be serene, pleasant, nice, steady, and stable.
Taurus people strike a leisurely pace, savoring the world's physical delights. The very idea of stopping to smell the roses is a supremely Taurus notion. No other sign may enjoy the sheer physical-ness of life more than Taurus. They love pretty colors, interesting textures, comfortable contours, intriguing and graceful shapes, delicious aromas, complex flavors, soothing and inspiring melodies, and their aesthetic tastes are astounding.
They need enough sheer beauty in their lives to operate properly. Surroundings that are dirty, cluttered, unpleasant, or simply unappealing ... can make a Taurus physically ill. And a Taurus who keeps a mess around him is showing signals of serious problems -- emotionally, mentally, spiritually ... and eventually physically.
Taurus is a homebody at heart. He (or she) loves a dependable, familiar setting, where he can kick back in comfort and not do anything he doesn't want to do. Not only does he hate being prodded into anything that wasn't first of all his idea (and even then, he'll get to it on his own timetable), changes of any kind disturb him. This sign likes to plan his future -- way far into the future, and then follow his plan.
Getting a Taurus to move faster or change his mind is a true encounter with the immovable object. Taurus makes obstinacy an art. It is the most fixed of the Fixed Signs (along with Aquarius, Scorpio, and Leo), and if you live with one (or need to get along with one) it helps to keep that in mind. You'll save yourself a lot of wear and tear.
Moreover, Taurus is the Fixed Earth sign, with literal connections to the land. Taurus has a mystical ability to commune with nature and the Earth as living spirits. Along with those peaceful, contemplative surroundings I mentioned, Taurus needs to spend time in nature -- out in the woods, up in the mountains, by a rushing river or a teeming trout lake, on a farm or ranch ... preferably in all these places.
Taurus also wants to own a piece of the Earth. Huge pieces of the earth, if possible. To look out over vast tracts of real estate, woodlands, and fields that are his, all his, is a Taurean's dream. At the very least, a Taurus needs to own his own home ... with as much land surrounding it as he can possibly afford.
This sign works closely with issues of money, income, and ownership all its life, either by putting together a personal fortune (some will be invested wisely "for the future," and some will be spent on the comforts and status symbols that advertise this success to everyone) or by finding itself painfully focused on survival and earning money until it can tap its natural talents and claim the effortless financial flow that can be its birthright.
Taurus is a sign meant to be wealthy, to manipulate and manage material assets, to interact with the physical world. This includes everything from enjoying sensual pleasures, to appreciating fine food, music, and art, to understanding the healing magic of physical touching (and good sex!!), to caring for children, pets, and plants -- watching them grow, develop, and grow up. Taurus loves investments that mature over time. To him, it's the best form of wealth ... and that famous patience can produce a fine harvest.
But there is a downside to even this placid, gentle, companionable sign. Besides the stubbornness, it can be a little too materialistic, extravagant, self-indulgent, and status-and-money-conscious. It can also be disturbingly possessive of people in close relationships in a way that suggests "ownership" quite openly. Thus, it can become seriously jealous -- often over trivia, and it is not above using money as a weapon when there is leverage to gain from that.
Still, its loyalty is legendary. And as a friend, companion, or lover, you could sure do a whole lot worse than having a member of this candid, gracious, congenial sign as the other half of the partnership.

How to Choose a Psychic - Part 1

By Colin Hayes

Today psychics are also called many things including clairvoyant, spiritualist, and medium. They are everywhere from telephone hot-lines to the Web to the Phone book. How do you know who is a con artist and who is the real thing? This article will give you some guidance and a few good practical tips!
You may want to consult a psychic for fun, for some guidance, out of curiosity or even to tell you what the future of your life will be. Psychic advisors may have many different qualifications including anything from a masters degree in psychology to simply a long list of satisfied clients. The first thing to do when choosing a psychic is to decide on your reasons for consulting one. There many types of them and knowing what you want to find out from them will help narrow your choices.
For instance:
I want to know if I get married, will it work out? Is my relative who passed away watching over me? What should my next career move be?
The point is, think about what you want to know before you look around. That will help you pick out the type of tools your ideal psychic should use – tarot cards, “pure” intuition, medium to the afterlife, astrology, runes, numerology, etc. You can also ask your friends and relatives to see what their experiences have been with the different techniques. They may even know of a good psychic!
The best possibility is if you could seek out a well known advisor that has written a book or even been on television. They may cost more, but only the best get published or asked to do readings on TV. You may be able to find them on the Internet and contact them via email. Check out their website and use your gut feeling to see if you might click with them. Check out a few sites and look at their background, experience and prices. Maybe one will click with you!
The next step is to be careful when choosing a psychic and we will review that in Part 2: Things to watch out for when choosing a psychic.

TOP TEN Pound 4 Pound Best Boxer Ever

By Gary Whittaker

Before we start our list, I wanted to take some time to comment on 2 fighters that may have strong support in certain communities for being among the best ever, but truly do not have a place on the list.
NOT RANKED
Rocky Marciano - Won 49 Lost 0, 43 KO
Ask any Italian who the greatest boxer ever was, and you will never hear the names Ali, Louis or Sugar. Nope. You will only hear the name Rocky Marciano, the only heavyweight champion to retire undefeated. To his credit, Rocky Marciano did make a habit of beating up his opponents in the ring. Add the fact that his most notable victory was over his childhood idle, Joe Louis, whom he sent back into retirement. But Joe was well past his prime. He also beat Archie Moore, but he also was already in his early forties. So to the entire nation of Italy and her children I say to you, Rocky Marciano could not beat any of the champions in my Top T.E.N.
Lennox Lewis - 41 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, 32 KO
Lewis will most likely go down as one of the most intelligent, calculated champions ever. But that is not what pound for pound is based on. Lennox was able to capitalize on Tyson’s jail term to reign as champion, then got out before the Klitchko brothers could undo the legacy he has manufactured for himself. He stayed an extra 4 years as an amateur to win a gold metal against younger opponents (Riddick Bowe for the medal bout). He then became champion only because Bowe gave up the title. He backed out of Tyson’s way (accepting a huge multi-million dollar payoff from Don King as payment for Tyson taking his ranking) as he was climbing back up to regain the championship that was handed to him. I believe that history will judge him for the fake that he truly is.
And now, to the top ten best pound for pound boxers:
10 - Mike Tyson - 50 wins, 5 losses, 2 no contests, 44 KO
No other fighter has been called “the baddest man on the planet”. Mike Tyson was perhaps the most feared person in boxing history. Up until Buster Douglas embarrassed Iron Mike, Mike Tyson made fighters give up. Going up through the amateur ranks, boxers actually lost on purpose so as to not fight Tyson in tournaments. How ironic that Tyson’s worst defeat was not to a boxer, but to a beauty pageant contestant named Desiree Washington. There is a great chance that had Tyson not suffered a 3-year setback, he would have easily moved up and be universally recognized as one of the best ever.
9 - (Big) George Foreman - Won 76 lost 5, 68 KO
Foreman’s biggest enemy opponent has always been himself. He could not accept defeat. After making his name as one of the most dominant fighter ever, his loss to Ali took him out of professional boxing for over a year. He made his first comeback attempt in 1977, knocking out his next 5 opponents (including Frazier, again), only to retire after losing a 12 round decision. A decade later, Foreman made an improbable comeback at the age of 38. Foreman made it again near the top of the boxing rankings, and despite suffering setbacks against Holyfield and Tommy Morrison, Foreman shocked the world when he stunned Michael Moore with a knock out in the 10th round. His next few bouts further proved that even unto his late 40th, Foreman was still a formidable force.
8 - (Sugar) Ray Leonard - 36 Wins, 3 Loss, 1 Draw, 25 KO
Leonard has to be on this list if only for the pure psychology he was able to inflict on his opponents. Only Ali could get into his opponents head more. Add to that all the titles his has own, in multiple weight divisions, and you have your number 8 all time. Like most great fighters, he just did not know when to quit, so you will have to ignore the last few fights of his career. Sugar Ray beat them all, from Duran (No Mas, No Mas), to Hagler, then Hearns, Sugar Ray’s stock only dropped because of his own issues. He first retired due to a detached retina, and it can be argued that a serious cocaine habit between 84 and 89 further damaged his career.
7 - (Marvelous) Marvin Hagler - 62 Wins, 3 Losses, 2 Draws, 52 KO
Yes, we have the Marvelous one ahead of Leonard, even though Leonard beat Hagler in their one encounter. Hagler was so distraught by that loss that he left before, and even refuses to talk about that fight today. Hagler’s only 2 losses were early on in his career, and he responded to them by beating both fighters. He would have continued to dominate the middleweight division had he not suffered the mentally debilitating loss to Leonard. While Hopkins has been middleweight champion longer, with more title defenses, it can be argued that he never faced opponents the caliber of Duran and Hearns, both of whom Hagler defeated.
6 - Archie Moore - 181 wins, 24 losses, 9 draws and 1 no contest, 145 KO
Looking at the record, it is easy to see why the "Old Mongoose" or "Ancient Archie" has made it to the list. Archie’s career spanned over 4 decades, and it the only fighter to have faced by Rocky Marciano and Muhammed Ali. Archie was a better Light Heavyweight than he was a pure Heavyweight. He had his light heavyweight title stripped from him twice because he was too busy fighting at a higher weight class. No other fighter has knocked out as many professional opponents as Archie.
5 – Roy Jones Jr - 49 wins, 3 losses, 38 KO
This particular selection is highly debatable, and may end with Roy’s removal from the list completely. While there is no denying his talent, there is question as to if his showmanship and opponent section unfairly propelled him into his status. Winning a championship fight after playing paid basketball the same day was previously unheard of. As was becoming a champion at middleweight all the way up to heavyweight. Before his last two fights, Jones’ only defeat was a bogus call after he was disqualified against Montell Griffin, which he quickly avenged. Jones has at least warranted due considering, and an initial entry to the list.
4 - Joe (Brown Bomber) Louis - Won 68 Lost 3, 54 KO
While there seems to be some dispute over whether 5 of his victories by KO were exhibition matches or not, there is a consensus not take seriously 2 of his 3 losses in failed comeback attempts. The last, and most humiliating defeat was an 8th round KO through the ropes by Rocky Marciano. The Brown Bomber was so much in debt, that he tried to come back well past his prime. The fact that so much cultural identify was thrust upon his shoulders, made Joe Louis not only one of the greatest pure fighters, but a true icon for America’s 2nd class citizens. Joe will be best known for his 1st round KO over Germany’s Max Schmeling in 1938. Schmeling beat the favored Louis in 12 years only a few years earlier. Even when Joe won the Heavyweight title by knockout, he refused to be called champion until he settled the score with Schmeling. It is this attitude that made him a national hero despite his color.
3 - Julio Cesar Chavez - Won 104 Lost 5, 2 draws, 80 KO
Julio is a Mexican world champion boxer who won world titles in 3 different divisions. Among the world champions that Chávez defeated in his career are Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez, Rocky Lockridge, Meldrick Taylor, Roger Mayweather, Sammy Fuentes, Héctor "Macho" Camacho, Juan Laporte, and Tony López. Chavez went 13 years before not winning a fight, with a draw to Pernell Whitaker, and it was another year later before he suffered his first defeat which was avenged 4 months later. Only in his last 8 years of his 24 year career did Chavez acount for 4 of his 5 losses to 3 different oppenents. He was able to avenge his lose to Willey Wise, but failed in second attempt to Oscar De La Hoya.
2 - Muhammed (Louisville Lip) Ali - won 56 Lost 5, 37 KO
In my book, Ali will also go down as one of the greatest human beings of all time. As purely a boxer, only a “what could have been” during his 3 year lay off after refusing to go to Vietnam prevents him from being the best ever. He came back after 3 years to lose his first of three asking Joe Frazier. Both were undefeated at the time. The same happened with Ken Norton. In both cases, Ali came back to whup them in the next 2 fights. Although the two became friends later on, Ali is also credited with knocking Foreman out in the ring, out of boxing, and onto the pulpit. Leon Spinks got Ali during his declining years, but Ali still come back to beat him in 1979. What happened to Ali in the next two fights against Holmes and Berbick is eerily similar to what is happening now with Roy Jones Jr. In neither case, should those 2 fights be included into what was an otherwise spectacular career.
1 – (Sugar) Ray Robinson 179 wins, 19 losses, 6 draws, 2 no contests, 109 KO
While many fighters have held that nickname over the years, none have been as sweet as Ray Robinson, whose real name was actually Walker Smith Jr. Robinson won the middleweight title an unprecedented 5 times. Even Muhammed Ali referred to Sugar Ray as the greatest fighter ever (it is rumoured that Robinson actually refused to give Ali an autograph when Ali met him while Ali was still young, and Clay). Unlike Moore, the majority of Robinson’s losses came at the end of his career.
Honorable Mention
Floyd Mayweather Jr - 32 Wins, 0 Losses, 21 Knockouts
Now regarded (arguably) as the best active pound for pound boxer
Roberto Duran - 103 Wins, 16 Loss, 69 Knockouts
He will forever by scarred by his 8th round quit job on Sugar Ray Leonard.
Evander (Real Deal) Holyfield - 38 Wins, 7 Losses, 2 Draw, 25 KO
Was undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion of the world. He also was the man that destroyed the aura that was Mike Tyson. He will have his place in boxing history, but not as one of the greatest ever.
(Smokin’) Joe Frazier - 32 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, 27 KO
Also one of the most feared fighters ever, but 2 losses to Ali and Foreman will keep him off this list.
Thomas Hearns - 59 wins 4 Loss 1 Draw, 46 KO
AKA "the Hit Man" and "the Motor City Cobra", Hearns won seven world championships in six weight classes during his 22 year pro career. But losses to Leonard (his first ever) and Hagler will keep him off the list.
Bernard Hopkins - 45 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, 1 NC, 32 KO
More so than Hagler, Hopkins had a slow start to his career. When he finally won the belt, he has defended against the best of the 90’s and 2000. He may end up considered in the 10 top yet.

How to House Train a Dog

By Drew Charlie

Do you want a well-behaved dog? A dog that wont run outside and bark at every person that walks past your house, a dog that won’t pee on your carpet, a dog that wont bite your ankles as you walk past.
I am going to show you 3 very important training tips that will make your dog completely house trained.
1. Don’t change your dogs sleeping, eating or potty locations. If you mix up these locations your dog will become confused and not know where to go to the toilet etc.
Keep the NO areas consistent. Before you even go to the pet store to buy a dog you should know where the do can and cannot go. Make it clear from the very start otherwise house training your dog can take much longer then you want.
2. Catch your dog in the act. This is one of the most important rules to house train your dog. If you are training your dog to not go to the toilet inside you need to catch your dog in the act. Even if it means following them around the house.
Dogs usually go to the toilet after they eat, after they sleep or after they play. If your dog is sniffing around the house, follow them because they are more then likely about to make a nice stain on your carpet.
3. Do it yourself. Another important step. You need to house train your dog yourself. Doing the training yourself will give you and your dog a much better relationship and you will understand each other much better.
This does not mean other people cannot tell your dog what to do, or teach your dog tricks. It just means you should do the majority of the dog training yourself. Set aside 30 minutes a day to really teach your dog new commands like sit, stay, come etc.
House training your dog from a younger age will always be advantage but this doesn’t mean and old do can’t learn new tricks.
These are the most important factors in house training your dog. However you must remember there are many other points to consider to successfully house train a dog. Different dogs will learn your specific house rules at different rates but the most import thing is to not give up and do not let your dog get away with bad habits.

How To Make Money On Credit Cards?

By Raj Vats

Yes, you can make money on credit cards. Here is how you do it. I am sure you are bombarded with those credit card deals in the mail offering ‘teaser’ rate to entice you to apply. Also, known as ‘introductory offers’. They will usually have a low or zero interest rate for 6 to 12 months.
The best are offers with zero interest rate. There are plenty, so if you don’t have them yet, just watch for one. Shred the rest away. Just a side note; please shred all credit card offers you don’t want because identity thieves are known to apply on your behalf and change the address. While you are unaware, thieves are charging on your name. Just get a $10-20 shredder and shred the credit card applications rather than tossing them in the trash can. I like the shredders that do diamond cuts because they break it down into small pieces that practically no one can piece together.
Now back to our money making strategy. After you get the 0% offers. Go through them and see which one’s have ‘cash advance fee’. Shred the ones that have cash advance fee. Usually the cash advance fee is where credit card companies make their money. Most have started asking for 3% cash advance fee. Since that is paid upfront, your actual cost of money is much higher.
Now you will be left with one or 2 good offers with 0% interest with NO cash advance fee for 6 or 12 months. It is essentially free money. Take that money and put it in a safe place like a separate money market account. Mark your calendar when it has to be paid back in full. Every month your credit card company will bill you for generally 1% of the borrowed money. Pay it PROMPTLY from this account. If you don’t pay, the interest rate instantly jumps to the current rate of some outrageous amount like 16-24%. The credit card companies are counting on the fact that you will forget to pay and they ‘sock it to you’. Or you might forget when the full amount is due and again they ‘get you’.
Simple strategy, pay their bill every month and when the amount is due in full pay it a week in advance. Do not charge anything on this credit card because everything you pay first applies to your charges and not towards your cash advance. Essentially, keep it clean and give no reason for the credit card company to charge you interest.
You will be surprised that you now have a good chunk left over in your account free and clear. Where did this extra money come. You borrowed money from credit card company at zero cost. And you were smart to invest that money in a money market fund (currently 5% or more). All the time you had their money, you were earning interest on their money. The money can add up very quickly. If you borrow your full credit line say $10k to $35k you can have a good chunk of money. How sweet it is to make money off the credit card companies. Ask them to send you more offers like that!

Successful Real Estate Website Design

By Shana Long

Successful Real Estate Website Design and Domain Name: Key To Increased Income
If you want to go somewhere with your business, it's best that you recognize the internet as one of the most powerful marketing tools you can take advantage of today. Since the internet has an ever growing reach all over the world, it's important to focus on the qualities of your online storefront: functional website design and an effective domain name. With a quality website design and domain name, generating business should be a cinch, even for those who know less about computers and the web.
As a realtor selling realty, you must do your best to generate new leads, prospects, and referrals with your website design. These aspects of the business are a realtor's lifeline of course. Without leads, there would be no deals. And without deals, there would be no sales. And you know the rest. So, there's no doubt an ongoing issue/goal for agents is trying to generate enough leads to build and sustain a career.
So maybe the best way to describe the realty business is dog eat dog. So let me tell you how to beat out the competition; with Realty ProSites Website Design, a real estate marketing tool whose goal is help realty agents generate leads and home sales with the most effective website design.
It's not enough to say you have a website. A website must say something about your business. A customer should be able to visit your website and know exactly what you are about, this isn't a mystery novel. Your potentials should also be able to locate your website through search engines. Having a website presence is not enough to overcome the competition. Realty ProSites website design allows your website to work for you. Let's say someone has bars of gold they want to get rid of for free (unlikely, but let's just say). If nobody knows you are participating in this incredible charity then who is going to come for the gold? NOBODY KNOWS THIS OFFER EXISTS! You must advertise and expand your website into the reaches of the public, otherwise your website design is a dead duck floating in a vast ocean of beautiful geese. It doesn't compare. Or it's lost in the back alley.
Arguably, the best way to put a website to work for you is through great content. Great content attracts people. Visitors look for information and solutions to their needs. When they find websites that meet their needs the website owners are rewarded through repeat visitors or referrals, which make the search engines take notice and consequently increase your site ranking hence sending even more traffic to your website.
Although content is very important for any website design, it is also very important to make your website navigational. Don't make your visitors think. They hate to think and they especially hate websites that make them think. What's the point in staying on a website where they are unsure where to go in order to get what they want? So keep it simple, uncrowded, and fresh with everchanging new content. Archive the old or "no longer relevant" content in a designated archive section. The biggest mistakes made by realty sites: Crowded content, irrelevant content, and way too many main menu links (ok, I draw the line at 15, sheesh. even that's too much. Have these websites heard of submenus?).
There are easy and hard ways to generate good realty website content. The easy way: Prewritten Realty Website Design Content. It's easy to find, generally affordable, and can save you time and energy. If you want to take a little more time writing the realty website content yourself then personalize it as much as you can and be sincere. If your having trouble, visit sites you like and take some pointers from their welcoming, about us, contact us, mission statement pages (etc). Your realty website can be your virtual administrative assistant, working 24/7 on your behalf developing leads, displaying your information and cultivating relationships with your website visitors. So, the more useful/valid content you provide and the more user friendly your website design, the more leads you will generate.
A little more knowledge about the internet a.k.a. marketing powerhouse..
A recent study of Internet users showed that 50% of have college degrees, the typical earnings of Internet users is $52,500 and almost 42% earn above that, and the total frequency percentage rate of Internet users on a daily basis is almost 88%. With that in mind, we know that more and more people are accessing the internet due to accessibility. And with the average income of most Internet users, the National Association of Realtors contends that 96% of the Americans who would buy houses will access the Internet to find their dream houses. That's awesome for you, right? So why not get their attention with a Realty ProSites website design.
By now you know that not having an effective website = missing out big time to profit from a huge audience of prospective buyers and sellers. A majority of realtors either don't understand the potential of the Internet in generating sales, or they underestimate how significantly it can increase their sales and their relationships with their existing customers. The trend of the real estate market today is based on the fact that the more proficiency and skill you can incorporate on your realty website, in any aspect, the tougher your competitors will have in trying to top you. Good luck to them.
If you don't have a Realty ProSites Website Design and your current webmaster or website isn't hacking it, you should consider remodeling your website. Don't miss out on the massive and still growing realty online buying and selling community.
Domain Name: Key To Increased Website Traffic
One often overlooked aspect of a Realtor's online marketing campaign is the domain name. A good domain name plays a major part in the success of your website.
While the most common choice for an agent is to use their own name as their website's domain, this is often not the best choice. While this may be a good name by which existing clients can remember your site, the key is for your website to generate new leads and new clients. Domain names like JohnnySmiles.com will not identify your website to potential clients searching the web for a home in your area. They'll be looking for Florida agent or Cleveland agent .com , not JohnnySmiles.com
It is unlikely that homebuyers will search for you by name. Instead they will be searching for " Cleveland real estate " or " Cleveland properties ". Furthermore, once they've visited your site and moved on, it will be much easier for someone looking to relocate to Miami, FL to remember the name MiamiRealEstate.com than to recall the name of a Realtor they've never worked with. This holds especially true if your name is not common or is difficult to spell. Another option is to register your JohnnySmiles.com as a second domain name that is directed to the same website. So you would own two domain names leading to the same site, one for the general searching public and the other for persons already familiar with you.
The best domain names should be descriptive and serve to identify your target market. Also, the shorter the name the better, generally between 5 - 7 letters long. Ideally it would also contain keywords that potential clients would search by. This simple change will help improve your site's search engine rankings dramatically.
The words " Real Estate ", " Properties ", or " Homes " can be easily combined with the locations you serve, creating a domain name that is both descriptive and contains the highly important keywords. An excellent domain name for an agent serving the city of Cleveland, Ohio would be ClevelandRealEstate.com. Although many of domain names may already be taken, you could try using the names of smaller areas you serve instead of the larger metropolitan area. In the case of the Cleveland example, you could try using the communities of Bratenahl, Euclid, or Richmond Heights in your domain name.
Another option is to register more than one domain name or even have more than one website. By having more than one domain name and website, you can target each smaller community specifically, and establish yourself as the expert in that area. Also, make sure you buy your domain name in .net so that someone else can't buy the name and piggyback off your success.
Seach for available names at realtyprosites.com .
Realty ProSites website design company will handle your domain name registration for you so you don't have to worry about it.
Additional guidelines for selecting a domain name:
Keep It Short:It is often a tradeoff between having your domain name descriptive and having it short. Ideally you would have domain name that is both descriptive of your service and short enough that it can be used in conversation easily. Shorter names tend to be more professional, easier to spell, and more memorable. They also look nicer on printed materials and advertisements.
Avoid Unnatural Spellings: With many good domain names already taken, many people are using "creative" ways of getting the domain names they want. Many domain names use numbers to represent words such as 2 for "TO" and 4 for "FOR" or the letter Z in the place of an S. Names like 4NewYorkRealEstate.com can make your domain name more difficult to remember or, worse, send your visitor to your competitor at ForNewYorkRealEstate.com. By choosing a domain name that is easy to spell, you'll maximize the number of repeat visitors to your site.
Use a Dot-Com Extension and register the Dot-Net:The shortage of memorable dot-com domains has led to the creation of dozens of other extensions. However, nothing will replace the brand name associated with a dot-com domain name. Similar to the 1-800 toll free numbers, dot-com will always be the most well known extension and the first place people will look for a name they remember. Most importantly, the reason companies usually register with a non dot-com name is that the dot-com is already taken. Now do you really want to run the risk of advertising and promoting your website only to send a large portion of your clients to your competitor's site?
Good real estate agent referral link exchanges: Building Search Engine Ranking
Real estate agent referral link exchange programs help your web site generate traffic and appear high in google rankings.
Real estate estate agent referral link exchange partners allow other realtors or persons with websites relating to yours in content place a weblink on your site, and they allow you to place a weblink on their website.
There are numerous ways to get you in contact with good Real estate agent referral link exchange partners. The first step in acquiring good Real estate agent referral link exchange partners - reciprocal or one-way -is to have an appealing well-designed website. Once you have that down, Real estate agent referral link exchange partners won't be hard to come by.
Some webmasters link to a website based on how much traffic a website generates, but most will link to a website based on content relevancy and the quality of the web site requesting the weblink..
When websites start out, they are pretty much equal and they cannot progress without great page rankings and search-engine return positions. Some think that a truly well-designed site can eventually upshoot itself in google rankings and traffic, so start getting Real estate agent referral link exchange partners early.
Solid information, clean graphics, helpful links, easy navigational menu, and updated info usually constitutes a well thought out realty website design.
A great link manager site is LinkPartners.com. It's free, it's neatly categorized, it's got tens of thousands of listings of websites who are looking for Real estate agent referral link exchange partners and more. Another great aspect is the human editors that make sure they're aren't spammers or websites that don't reciprocate (hey no fair!)
With more than 108 million websites on the Internet, this leaves a heck of a lot of potential Real estate agent referral link exchange partners.
When picking Real estate agent referral link exchange partners, consider your demographics. Who are your potential customers? Zoom in on that niche market. Narrow down your market as far as you can (this doesn't mean you have to completely exclude other demographics). This narrowing will still leave a considerable amount to choose from but it will definitely help in content relevance appealing to specifically your target customer. If you ever come across a realty or other relevent website you like, email them or look for their Real estate agent referral link exchange partners program link. Linkpartners.com or other free links managers sites can help you out with Real estate agent referral link exchange partners that are already looking and displays realty directories.
Now before you go hyperlinking every website in the known universe, wait a decent amount of time between adding 10-15 websites. Most of the people who want to be your Real estate agent referral link exchange partner will expect a link established at once, sometimes the very same day (hey! where's my link). Clever search engines frown down upon hordes of links appearing on a site in a very short period, it's best not to add more than 10 or 15 at a time. Real estate agent referral link exchange partners building can't - and shouldn't - be rushed. So if you think you don't have the time to search for ethical Real estate agent referral link exchange partners, then you better make time. If you're business is important to you, then this should be important. Rushing it could allow you to overlook unethical sites you definitely don't want to send your customers to.
It's also possible that your first batch of link requests won't get as much positive response as you would like. I found for me, it's best for Real estate agent referral link exchange partners to come to you. If noone is coming to you, that means there is something wrong with your website design (figure it out fast). Eventually, your Real estate agent referral link exchanges will pick up momentum and begin attracting good new links without you pushing it.
The one-way link: Content is King!
A one-way link to your site is: weblink-bait articles, blogs and online media releases. A link-bait article is exactly what its name implies, something on a website that is so interesting or important that it is picked up as a discussion topic on web forums, gets cited by bloggers, referenced on other websites and, eventually, because of all the organic links from the forums, etc. achieves a high return in search-engine queries.
So if you are an expert in realty, write about a topic. If it is interesting enough, well-written, and relevent to realty then it's possible 60 sites may "pick up" your article, blog, or release then link to it or discuss it. That's 60 one-way links to your site. Quickly and economically..
Blogging (it's almost as if everyone is doing a blog these days) is an excellent way to improve search-engine visibility both directly and as link bait. Here again, the key is making the blog postings interesting and on topic. If you've got a realty site, it does you little good to write a wonderful blog about sheep farming in Florida. You may get some links from certain interested sheep farmers but how many of these people who see those links are likely to visit your site and buy a home on your site, or become a Real estate agent referral link exchange partners? Not likely.
So make your potential one-way link intelligent, possibly controversial, relevant to your website content, and informational. Knowledge is power!

Choosing Between Paid and Free Online Auction Sites

By Stephen Pavis

For those individuals who want to sell their wares and products over the Internet, they can take full advantage of auction sites. There are free and paid auction sites that they can join. Also, online auction sites list the products in categories so that users can easily search for what they want, and sellers can easily locate which category their products most likely fit.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Free and Paid Online Auction Sites
Free online auction sites do not require any fee before you become a member. You need only to exert effort and invest in time to get your products posted there. Free online auction sites are also more lenient than paid sites, allowing sellers and bidders to transact businesses personally and outside the site. But one disadvantage about free auction sites though is that you are only given limited slots or limited image hosting space to post your products since most of these free auction sites are small.
Paid auction sites, on the other hand, obviously require a membership fee, but once you have joined a paid auction site, you enjoy its full benefits like unlimited slots for your products. You can even post pictures of your items since they have a larger database than free auction sites. Their disadvantage though is that transactions are done within their site alone.
What You Should Know
Selling and buying at auction sites are fun since you most likely will find what you are looking for, but before you do that, here are some things you should know.
You should read the guidelines and rules of the auction site you will choose. Because you have the risk of not getting the item you want from the seller, it is important that you understand where the online auction site stands on an event like this. The same goes for the seller. He gets a high bid but then the buyer decides not to purchase the item.
Be wary of who you are dealing with. It is best to use another email than the one you always use so that you will not inadvertently reveal any personal information. Before making a purchase, it is also recommended that you review the testimonials from other buyers about the seller. It is how you can best gauge a buyer,s credibility.
For sellers, it is important that you answer questions any buyer might have like item and shipping costs as it is considered unprofessional if you delay things like this or not give a reply.
Lastly, never disclose your password to anybody so as to protect your personal information and your wallet.

Affiliate Marketing - Discover The Constant Income Tip (Part 2)

By Zack Lim

The 2nd situation is that 10 people join a membership site. You as an affiliate will earn a commission of $10 monthly for every person that joins the membership site. So you will be able to get $100 monthly without doing anything after you have bring in the customer to sign up for the membership site. This means that you will get $100 monthly as long as the 10 customers are still the member of the site.
So for the 1st situation, if you want to earn another 400 dollars again, you will have to find another 10 new potential buyers. You will have to keep on looking for new people. But for the 2nd situation, if you can find 40 people to join the membership site, you will be able to get $400 the first month. Even on the second month if you did not do anything and the 40 customers are still the members for the site, you will still get $400. You will get $400 as long as they are still members of the site.
This will be the smarter way to do your affiliate marketing because you will be leveraging on the traffic that you have. But in order to make sure that your commissions will grow constantly, you should add your membership promotion to your growing list and in your autoresponder series. This will make sure that you will be able to replace the subscribers that have canceled the membership and at the same time add more and more people every month to join the membership. This will means more passive income for you monthly.
This is a method which you can use to fully maximize and leverage on all your effort and traffic. So do look for membership websites which have a affiliate programs and the most thing that you can take out from this article is to take actions for every new strategy or method that you have learned. You will be much nearer to your affiliate success when you take action on a consistent basis.

Feeling Safe about Internet Purchases for Retirees

By Michele Rogers

More and more the internet has become a part of a lot of lives. We find it easy to surf by most well we fear some purchasing on line. With the security features that most web sites have we should not hesitate to buy just what we want.
By using precautions online while we are buying is smart. Whenever you purchase your items, first be sure to check if you have a secure connection, by checking to see if somewhere on your screen you have a little padlock that is locked. By clearing all cookies when you are finished is another way to allow you to safely buy and surf.
Some retirees may wonder if the sites are secure themselves. Most are encrypted language, which will protect you. Be aware of emails that you receive, as some are scams. While some look harmless, read between the lines. Make sure you keep notes of recent purchases and the company from whom you purchased your item.
Remember when your parents told you never to give out your Social Security number? Well the time for that is past. Most places need it and will not set you up for pay plans or accept payments from you, such as utilities. Keep a list of where and when you gave your number, if there are any future problems, you can address them.
Lastly be sure that when you receive your billings statements that there is only one purchase on the card, for your item. Read you billings and be aware of your purchases. Keep your billings from your credit cards for about 5 months. That way if you forget whether or not you used your card you may be able to find a pattern if your card numbers were stolen.

7 Tips for Nominating an Associate for Recognition

By Debby Peters

Developing a strong relationship with a person in your network is helpful to you and rewarding to that person. One method that accelerates how well you know that person is to nominate him for an award. There are plenty of opportunities to do so. Here in Toledo we have many award possibilities: 20 Under 40, The Milestones, Entrepreneur of the Year and The Athena Award to name just a few. Of course, you may be aware of industry awards or even company recognitions that will deliver the same powerful thrust.
Below I have listed seven steps to nominating someone for an award.
1. Read the nomination form completely to understand what is needed. Note the deadline. You will want to complete the entry at least four to five days prior to this date. Follow instructions to the letter. Give as much information as possible but no more than allowed. If the form asks for the nomination to be no more than two pages in length, don’t give three. Having been on several judging committees for awards, I can tell you that I probably had a bias towards the ones that stayed within the guidelines. Think of reading a hundred entries. Any extra was not a good thing!
2. Select the person to nominate. Put some thought into it. Match the person to the award. Tell him that you will be nominating him and why you think he is a good candidate. That statement alone will strengthen an already robust relationship. This step is crucial to the success. It tells him of your interest and support, but you will also need information from your nominee to deliver a winning entry.
3. Be sure your nominee fits all the criteria for the honor. Is there a residency requirement? Should the person have lived in a certain area for a minimum period of time? Has he demonstrated the qualities that are a fit for the award?
4. Answer the nomination questionnaire in a rough draft. Give very specific examples instead of generalities. For example, “He’s a wonderful person,” really doesn’t tell the selection committee very much. Instead, “He has helped five people to start successful businesses in our community, and because of his ongoing interest, all are continuing that success today,” gives an idea of the nominee’s accomplishment. Don’t be concerned about the length of your replies, editing will come later.
5. Ask your nominee for input to the questionnaire. This will be in two forms. You’ll want his perceptions, but more important, you’ll want to find out the names of other people that you can contact for information. Using others’ observations and including their names and quotes in the nomination will add credibility and power to your words.
6. Now that you have your rough draft written, it is time to edit.
a. Is it the right length? If not, more than likely it is too long. Find the core pieces that must stay, find parts that can be shortened and eliminate lesser narrative. If you must shorten a quote, do so carefully to keep the meaning intact. Get back to the person you quoted for permission to use the new version. Fine tune until it is the required length. b. Word process your nomination. The selection committee will have many to read and react to in a fairly short time period. Make it easy for them to clearly understand why your nominee should win. c. Send your final copy to the nominee to be sure that all facts are accurate. d. Read one last time. e. If appropriate, send via email or fax. I would also follow with a paper copy either by mail or hand delivery. Emails have been known to disappear into outer space!
7. What does not work?
a) Substituting a list or organizations the nominee belongs to instead of providing an explanation of how he makes a contribution to those groups. Many people can be just an inactive member of an organization. A list really doesn’t tell the story.
b) Not answering all questions on the nomination form. That could indicate the person you’ve nominated is not really a fit for the honor.
c) Some awards have multiple categories. The Milestones award in Toledo is an example of this. Choose just one category and make the best nomination for that specific section. Selecting two or three categories, hedging your bet, means most likely that your nomination efforts will be diluted. Concentrate on just one area.
d) Using too few or no other sources for information. Even if you know him well, one person cannot know everything about another.
e) Only using copies of web pages as the nomination.
f) Sending copies of articles written by or about the person nominated. Instead, if the information is that important, use a small excerpt or quote from it.
g) Not including a summary statement. A short sentence or two re-stating the main criteria and how your nominee meets these will help to “close the sale.”
Finally, remember the reasons for making the effort to compile this information. Yes, winning is fun, but the actual nomination process will honor the person and will help your relationship level to increase. Additionally, if he doesn’t win this year, you can nominate him again next time. He might have been a very highly-rated, runner-up and will be looked at favorably the next time around.

Top 7 Laws to Help Create Wealth in Your Life

By Marty Keller

1. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation:
The best definition of Natural Law seems to be that, "it is the uniform and orderly method of the omnipotent God. Unlike any other form of animal life that has been created, we were given the power of choice or free will; along with this power came certain responsibilities. The capacity to choose does not involve freedom from the consequence of our choice. The laws or rules which govern every individual, and which we cover to some degree in this book, are as exact as the laws which govern the material universe. You can act in accordance with these laws or you can disregard them, but you cannot in any way alter them. The law forever operates and holds you to strict accountability, and there is not the slightest allowance made for ignorance. The law of attraction will deliver to you what you do not want as quickly and as certainly as it will deliver what you do want.
2. The Law of Relativity:
In the study of this law, we find that all things are relative. All laws are related to each other and correspond with each other. The laws of the little are the laws of the great. There is no big nor small, fast nor slow, except by comparison. Every law that is a law must be relative to all other laws. In other words, they must be in harmony, agreement and correspond with each other. An understanding of this law will give one the means of solving many of the secrets of nature that seem to be para- doxical. The much discussed fourth dimension is nothing more nor less than the dimension of vibration. Again, all rates of vibration are either high or low, only by comparison with those above or below them. Whenever the law is properly used, you win. Let's remember that everyone does something better than you and, likewise, you do something better than every person you meet. When you relate something you do that you are not proficient at, to something another person does that they have mastered, you will not look good. You are using the law against yourself. Begin using this law to heighten your self esteem. You will then become aware of how special you are in the light of truth. 3. The Law of Vibration and Attraction:
Everything in the universe vibrates...nothing rests. We really do live in an ocean of motion. This truly contains the great secret of life. You are always moving toward something and it is always moving toward you... it's action and attraction. This is where your intuitive factor is used (or should be). You can use it to pick up other people's vibrations. When you consciously become aware of vibrations, you call them feelings. When you feel bad, you can change your feelings by thinking good thoughts. When you pick up abad feeling from another person...you know they must be thinking disturbing thoughts. You must not let their negative vibrations affect your way of thinking. Your thoughts are vibrations that you send off into the universe. When you concentrate, the vibrations are stronger. Your thoughts are cosmic waves of energy that penetrate all time and space (vibrations). Thought is the most potent vibration and remember that you can think...that makes you a very special creation (God's greatest masterpiece). You should always be delighted with yourself. (All creation begins in thought.) Your thought controls the vibration your physical body is in. Disease is a body that is not at ease. Health is a body at ease.
4. The Law of Polarity:
Everything in the universe has its opposite. There would be no inside to a room without an outside. If you referred to this side of the sheet of paper that these words are writen on as the top, then the other side would be the bottom. You have a right and left side to your body, a front and back. Every up has a down and every down has an up. The law of polarity not only states that everything has an opposite...it is equal and opposite. If it was 3 feet from the floor up on to the table, it would be 3 feet from the table down to the floor. If it is 150 miles from Manchester to London, by law it must be 150 miles from London to Manchester; It could not be any other way. If something you considered bad happens in your life, there has to be something good about it. If it was only a little bad, when you mentally work your way around to the other side, you will find it will only be a little good.
5. The Law of Rhythm:
The law of rhythm embodies the truth that everything is moving to and fro, flowing in and out, swinging backward and forward. There is a high and a low tide. Everything is flowing, both in and out, in accordance with the law. There is always a reaction to every action. Something must advance when anything retreats; Something must rise when anything sinks. This law governs the movement of the planets in their orbits and also manifests in the mineral and vegetable kingdoms. Men and women can observe this law in their mental, physical and emotional states. The law of rhythm is universal. This can be observed in the rising and setting of the sun and moon, ebb and flow of the tides, coming and going of the seasons, and in the rhythmic swing of consciousness and unconsciousness.
You are not going to feel good all the time; No one does. If you did, you wouldn't even know it. The low feelings are what permit you to enjoy the high feelings. There will always be highs and lows in life. Reason gives us the ability to choose our thoughts (that is free will). Even when you are on a natural down swing, you can choose good thoughts with your free will and continue to move up toward your goal.
6. The Law of Cause and Effect:
Every cause has its effect; every effect, its cause. There is no such thing as chance. Everything happens according to law. Nothing in the entire universe ever happens, unless it occurs according to law. Nothing ever escapes the law. It is impossible for the human mind to conceive of starting a new chain of causation, for the simple reason that every effect must have a cause; and in turn, that cause must have an effect. Thus, we have the perpetual, never-ending cycle of cause and effect.
Ralph Waldo emerson called the law of cause and effect, the law of laws. You are, of course, very interested in results. Your physical health, your relationships, the respect you earn, your material income. You must concentrate on the cause, and the effect will automatically take care of itself. That is how the law works.
7. The Law of Gender:
The law of gender manifests in all things as masculine and feminine. It is this law that governs what we know as creation. The word creation is often erroneously used, for, in reality, nothing is ever created. All new things merely result from the changing of something that was, into something else that now is. The law of gender manifests in the animal kingdom as sex. It also manifests in the mineral and vegetable kingdoms. Without the dual principle of male and female in all things, there could not be a difference of potential, perpetuation of motion, nor a regeneration. This law is the one which finally closes the cycle and completes the circle of the seven subsidiary laws under one great law.
This is in truth, the creative law. This law decrees everything in nature is both male and female. Both are required for life to exist. This law also decrees that all seeds (ideas are spiritual seeds) have a gestation or incubation period before they manifest. In other words, when you choose a goal or build the image in your mind, a definite period of time must elapse before that image manifests in physical results.

Why Your Business Needs An Intranet

By K Komando

One thing I like about running a small company is the ability to act quickly.
Decisions are not bogged down by layers of management. In fact, most moves are made with the interested parties meeting around a table.
But there can come a point when your business outgrows this arrangement. You need constant, reliable and secure communications with others in the company to ensure successful growth. You need an intranet.
An intranet is similar to a website, and it uses internet protocols, but it's an internal network exclusive to one company. (An "extranet" also is an internal or private website, but access privileges are extended to designated customers, partners and/or others.)
Most large corporations use intranets. Information distribution is a huge task when you have 10,000 or more employees. Intranets can help cure that headache.
Your business probably has nowhere near 10,000 employees. But I can give you three major reasons why your small business should invest in an intranet:
1. Communication Suffers When Dealing With More Than One Person Even a very small company has communication issues. Most people find out what's happening while gossiping around the coffee pot. Stories change as they spread, leading to a misinformed and disgruntled staff. If you have telecommuters, off-site workers, employees who travel a lot or a "virtual" company, communication issues become even more challenging.
In order for a company to succeed, everyone must understand its goals. Neither long- nor short-term goals should be confined to upper management meetings.
An intranet is the perfect place to post weekly reports, memos and goals. This way, everyone is up to speed.
Toby Ward, president of the intranet consulting firm Prescient Digital Media, notes that even a company with few employees benefits from an intranet. Even if you don't have people working remotely, your sales staffers or consultants aren't always in the office.
Building an intranet can enhance communication through message boards, instant messaging and moderated chats.
Let's take a typical business scenario. Your three sales staff have to come up with a presentation on increasing sales in the next fiscal year.
They enter a conference room, eat pizza, drink coffee and talk for hours. The first meeting turns into a three-hour, brainstorming session. The second meeting starts with a review of the best ideas from the first. The participants hash out why they will or will not work. By the third or fourth meeting they have some definite proposals.
By using an intranet's discussion board in the days before the meetings the process could have been improved. Ideas could be debated beforehand. Participants could have come into the sales meeting more focused.
2. Time Is Money An intranet allows you to post critical information for all employees to see. Even having human resources information posted is valuable. One of my employees said workers in his former office once spent 45 minutes trying to find out if public holidays were paid. The personnel manager was gone and no one else knew.
Posting of calendars, company policies and benefits is a great start. They reduce wasted time. But the interactivity of an intranet means it can be used for more than basic information.
You can save time (and paper) with interactive forms. Vacation requests, supply orders, changes to benefits and more can be handled quickly and efficiently.
Make sure your intranet follows good design principles. Make it as user-friendly as possible. You're trying to save time, not frustrate people.
3. It's Better Than E-Mail You may be thinking, "Why not just email the form?" Or, "I communicate well with my employees already".
According to Ward, e-mailing multiple versions of the same document or presentation leads to confusion and sometimes information overload.
Let's take that same sales group we envisioned earlier. They've decided on three major ways they will increase sales. They are now working on a PowerPoint presentation.
Three people collaborating on one PowerPoint file can lead to disastrous results. Confusion over who's working on what can lead to one person's work being overwritten by another.
By using an intranet, people can work on a shared file and have a central location for the most recent version.
Getting Started Before you set up an intranet, make sure you understand what you want it to do. Understand how employees will use it. Finally, adhere to good design principles. If it takes five or six clicks to find a particular request form, it's too complex.
You'll also have to decide if you want to build your own solution. A consultant can build an intranet to your specifications. It will have the look and feel you specify.
Software packages such as Windows SharePoint Services allow you to customise and design most everything yourself, using someone else's template. Windows SharePoint Services is provided as part of the Windows Server 2003 operating system. It lets team members post files, participate in discussions, link to web content and update announcements. And because Microsoft Office 2003 applications tie directly into the system, Word documents can be shared - without ever leaving Microsoft Word - and workers can chat from within applications.
The Downside To get your intranet ready for employee use, you will need someone to develop and maintain the content. The idea is to have continually updated information available. How you delegate those tasks may depend on the size of your company. If you only have 10 people, one person may be sufficient to maintain the information.
If you have a larger company, you'll probably want to separate content updates among departments. No matter the size, you'll have to budget maintenance time into an employee's schedule. Remember, we're dealing with computers; nothing ever runs as smoothly as we would like.
You'll also have to invest in time for employee training. You may even have to spend time convincing people to use the intranet. There's no point in spending cash if your employees aren't on board. But once they are, the return on investment can be significant.

Cleaning Company - Positioning Yourself In The Market Place

By David Andrew Smith
Having formed your Commercial Cleaning Services Company one of the most difficult aspects of running it that you will encounter immediately is in getting your quotes correct. Correct from the point of view of the cleaning company in covering all its costs in doing the clean and making a reasonable profit, whilst pitching it at a level which is still attractive to the potential customer.
With small contract cleaning jobs taking place once per week it is not so much of a problem as you can charge a premium rate because of the infrequency of the clean, but as the contracts become larger the problems in finding the right level intensify and it is very easy to be left making very little money out of a particular contract if you get it slightly wrong.
Firstly as a company/business you have to decide at what level you are going to enter the market;
· Are you going to offer cut price cleans in order to secure contracts?
· Are you going for the higher end of the market offering quality cleaning but at a higher price?
· Are you aiming for the high end of the market offering extra services as well as top quality cleaning?
Be very thoughtful before you decide. If you are going for option 3 then you have to ensure that you can indeed offer all the specialist services that the customer may require. Commercial cleaning and contract cleaning is the most competitive area of the cleaning market.
Get yourself an edge over your competitors. What can you offer that is unique? Do you cover a wider area? Do you always answer your telephone? Do you respond to enquiries immediately? Do you have a unique marketing strategy?
Having made your choice of where you are going to place your business in the cleaning industry the next important decision is getting your quoting correct.
Unless you have previously worked in cleaning this can be a mystery at the outset, and you will find yourself drastically under quoting or over quoting. There is nothing like experience in this area and you must be prepared to undertake a steep learning curve.
